Architectural lighting
Fixture specification and layout with USAI and other architectural lines. Layers of ambient, task, and accent light instead of a single ceiling wash.
What we do
We provide simplified technology solutions from the workplace to the home space — designed around how you actually live and work, not a pile of apps.
Illuminate
High-end lighting design and fixture options that fit the architecture, the art, and the hour of day. Cove, wall wash, recessed mud-in details, pendants, and landscape — all on one system.
Lutron and Savant scenes replace a wall of switches. Daylight Mode shifts color temperature with the sun. Goodnight turns the house down from the nightstand.
Fixture specification and layout with USAI and other architectural lines. Layers of ambient, task, and accent light instead of a single ceiling wash.
Arrive, entertain, film, sleep. Keypads and the phone do the same thing so guests never have to hunt for a switch.
Circadian tuning and dimming that is actually smooth. Light that supports the day instead of fighting it.
The view
Control the view and manage the light with treatments that move on a schedule, a scene, or a tap. Privacy at dusk. Solar gain in summer. A clean line on the window when they are up.
Integrated with lighting so “Relax” dims the room and drops the drapes together.
Entertainment
Dedicated screening rooms, media spaces, and outdoor listening. Acoustic treatment when the room needs it. Calibration so dialogue is clear and the low end is clean.
Stream everything you love to any room. One playlist, many speakers, no dead zones on the patio.
Projection or direct-view, hidden speakers, seating, lighting, and control designed as a single experience — not a stack of boxes.
Whole-house music, outdoor systems, and displays that belong in the architecture. Commercial digital signage and video walls when the project calls for it.
Infrastructure
A beautiful interface is worthless if the network underneath it is fragile. We design the backbone first: enterprise-grade switching, firewalls, wireless, and monitoring.
Savant, Crestron, and RTI. Lights, shades, climate, locks, and AV from one button — or from anywhere in the world.
Pakedge, SonicWall, and carefully designed Wi-Fi. VLANs for cameras and guests. A network that can be serviced years later.
IP camera systems with useful analytics, not noise. Access control and notifications so you never miss what matters.
Security partner · Sheep Dog One
M. Alan Associates partners with Sheep Dog One for security and monitoring. AI flags what is worth a look. Live technicians verify the event and respond. Coverage through our partner network reaches all 50 states.
Homes, estates, jobsites, and commercial buildings. Systems we install, and systems we take over and bring up to a standard we will watch.
Physical and electronic security for data centers — perimeter, interior, access, and continuous monitoring for facilities that cannot go dark.
A structured walk of the property: sightlines, lighting, access points, existing cameras, and response. A written plan before anyone orders hardware.
Analytics cut false alarms. When something is real, a person is already on the feed — not a clip you find in the morning.
We staff projects directly in nine states. Through SDO and other partners, monitoring and security work can follow a client anywhere in the country.
Cameras, switching, firewall, and the monitoring desk specified together so the picture is clean and the alert actually reaches someone.
